Welcome to the Milwaukee Adventure Race Course (MARC).
The MARC is an adventure race course that traverses the northern suburbs of the city of Milwaukee. The MARC is in a printable and downloadable format that makes it available to anyone year round. You can use it to try out adventure racing or to train for your next race. Start with the Instructions, Questions, Passport file and that will explain the rest.

What is adventure racing? Adventure Racing is a multi-disciplinary (e.g navigate, bike, paddle) team based race in which the team works as a group to navigate a course locating check points (CP’s) across multiple maps.
How long is the course? Adventure races can be four hours or less, or 24 hours or more. While I plan to develop longer and/or alternate versions of the course. The current course is only biking and navigation disciplines. It is approximately 5 miles on foot and 13 miles on bike. Even first time racers should be able to complete this course in under four hours. More experienced racers will complete the course under two hours.
That was fun! What next? Sign up for an actual adventure race. There are a lot of great ones in the area. The Wisconsin Adventure Racing Series features the best races in the state. Check out events within an hour of Milwaukee from MBM Sporting Events, Elkbones Adventure Racing, Medicus WRX, and 180 Adventure.
An extra-special thank-you goes out to 180 Adventure, and their Permanent Adventure Race Course (PARC). If you are near the Madison area, check out what they’ve put together over there. Their course was an inspiration for me and I hope that my course can be that good some day.
